About The Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative educator to join our 5th-grade team. The ideal candidate will foster a love for inquiry-based learning in Science and a growth mindset in Mathematics. This role is responsible for creating a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving as students prepare for the transition to middle school.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Science, Math, or a related field.
• Valid State Teaching License.
• Previous experience teaching upper elementary.
• Proficiency with educational technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans
• Facilitate hands-on science experiments and "productive struggle" in math to bridge the gap between abstract concepts and real-world application.
• Utilize data-driven instruction to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners, providing both remediation and enrichment.
• Establish a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom culture rooted in mutual respect.
• Design and administer formative and summative assessments to track student progress and inform future instruction.
• Work closely with the 5th-grade team and specialists to ensure a cohesive student experience.
• Maintain proactive and professional communication with parents regarding student academic and social-emotional growth.
