About The Position

Located in Asheville, North Carolina, Evergreen Community Charter School is a tuition-free, public school serving approximately 450 students in grades K-8. We follow the EL Education model, a research-substantiated model for school design with roots in the adventure and leadership organization, Outward Bound. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and North Carolina teacher licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in elementary education.

Skills/interests in one or more of the following areas: differentiated instruction, social justice, environmental literacy, character education, and service learning.

Responsibilities

Teach fifth grade class using the EL Education model, which emphasizes integrated, differentiated instruction, experiential learning, collaborative planning and teaching, student responsibility, environmental education, and community involvement.
Teach the NC Standard Course of Study for math and science to two fifth grade classes 26 students each.
Practice formative and summative assessment, provide critical feedback and guidance, establish rapport with students and parents, and work collaboratively with the fifth grade team.
