Job SummaryThe Fifth Grade Homeroom Teacher at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic School is responsible for providing high-quality, faith-centered instruction that supports the academic, spiritual, social, and emotional development of students. This role delivers instruction aligned with diocesan and school curriculum standards while fostering a structured, respectful, and engaging classroom environment rooted in Catholic values.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (required).
Valid teaching certification or eligibility (preferred).
Commitment to Catholic education and willingness to support the mission of St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic School.
Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary homeroom teacher responsible for daily classroom instruction and student supervision.
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons in core subject areas including Reading/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Religion.
Integrate Catholic teachings, values, and traditions into daily instruction and classroom routines.
Create and maintain a positive, organized, and respectful classroom environment that promotes student responsibility, collaboration, and academic success.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instructional decisions.
Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior in accordance with school policies.
Communicate effectively and professionally with parents/guardians regarding academic progress, expectations, and concerns.
Collaborate with faculty, support staff, and administration to support student success and school initiatives.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, liturgical celebrations, and school community events.
Adhere to all school policies, diocesan guidelines, and professional expectations.
