The 5th Grade ELAR Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing curriculum plans, preparing lessons that accommodate individual student differences, and presenting subject matter according to established guidelines. The role involves employing various instructional techniques, cooperating with staff on instructional goals, and planning assignments for support staff. The teacher will utilize technology in the classroom, assist students in improving study habits, and regularly assess student accomplishments, providing progress reports. Responsibilities also include assuming responsibility for extracurricular activities, serving as a positive role model, and creating a conducive classroom environment. The teacher will administer discipline according to policy, take precautions to protect students and resources, and assist in selecting instructional materials. Maintaining open communication with students and parents, professional relationships with colleagues, and using effective communication skills are essential. The role requires participation in staff development, demonstrating professional improvement, and maintaining ethical and responsible behavior. The teacher must stay informed of and comply with all relevant regulations and policies, compile and maintain required records, and attend faculty meetings and serve on committees.
