About The Position
Great Hearts Academies is seeking passionate, life-long learners to shape students' hearts and minds. We are a growing network of 49 public, open-enrollment, tuition-free classical schools. Great Hearts provides over 30,000 K-12 students with access to a high-quality, classical liberal arts education, with the highest goal of education being to become good, intellectually and morally. As a Homeroom Teacher, you will provide a welcoming and nurturing classroom that guides students to build a deep sense of wonder and a love of learning. Curricular elements include Spalding Phonics, Singapore Mathematics, as well as rich content in History, Science, and Literature. Homeroom Teachers enjoy the support of an Assistant/Apprentice Teacher in their classroom.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role
- US Work Authorization is required.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

Responsibilities
- Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
- Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
- Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
- Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.
