About The Position

This is a Temp-To-Full-Time position in Sangamon County. The role involves completing building maintenance to support 5S and safety initiatives, ensuring work centers are supplied with 5S items, and constructing or repairing various structures like platforms, work cabinets, machine guards, and railings. The position also includes assisting with inventory, addressing safety concerns, setting up rooms for meetings, and performing ice and snow removal. A key aspect of the role is active participation in the 5S program (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to maintain a productive work environment and assisting with keeping the department and machinery clean. Potential hazards include noise exposure, slips on wet surfaces, pinch points, heat exposure, cuts or abrasions, falls from heights up to 8 feet, potential falls into machinery, electrical shock hazards, muscle strain, and exposure to industrial chemicals.

Responsibilities

Complete building maintenance as assigned to support 5S and safety.
Support all work centers to ensure supplied with 5S items.
Build platforms, work cabinets, machine guards, and railings throughout the facility.
Repair platforms, work cabinets, machine guards, and railings as needed.
Assist with inventory within the 5S department to ensure 5S is maintained.
Address safety concerns.
Help set up rooms with tables and chairs for company meetings and events.
Help with ice and snow removal.
Actively participate in the 5S program, which is to Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain in order to maintain a highly productive work environment.
Assist with keeping the department and machinery clean.
