About The Position

Ericsson is looking for a 5G RAN Verification Engineer. As a 5G RAN Verification Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring end-to-end system quality, validating that our products meet 3GPP standards, customer requirements, and Ericsson’s high reliability expectations. You'll play a meaningful role in making sure our 5G products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance before they go live in networks that millions of people depend on every day. Ericsson has been shaping communications technology for over 140 years — and right now is one of the most exciting moments in our history. With 5G scaling globally and 6G research accelerating, there has never been a better time to join and grow with us. We believe that great engineers are developed, not just hired. If you're passionate about wireless technology and ready to invest in your craft, we'll invest right back. Ericsson is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and are committed to building diverse, inclusive teams where everyone can do their best work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics & Communication, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 0-5 years of experience in telecom software development or verification
  • Comfort working in a Linux environment — command-line usage and shell scripting from coursework or personal projects is a great starting point
  • A foundational understanding of 5G NR or wireless communication protocols (MAC, PHY, RLC, PDCP) — academic exposure is absolutely welcome
  • Basic knowledge of IP networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, latency, and throughput
  • Strong analytical thinking and a genuine love of debugging and root-cause analysis
  • A collaborative, team-first mindset with the ability to work effectively across global, distributed teams

Nice To Haves

  • Any hands-on experience with test tools such as TM500, QxDM, or Wireshark — even in a lab or academic setting
  • Exposure to CI/CD workflows or Jenkins pipelines through work experience, coursework or personal projects
  • Familiarity with cloud-native concepts, containers, or Kubernetes — increasingly important in next-gen RAN
  • Interest in how AI/ML is being applied to verification, analytics, or fault detection in telecom systems

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to end-to-end feature verification and validation of 5G RAN features across real network deployments
  • Support requirement analysis and feature impact assessments during integration and verification phases
  • Execute system-level, regression, and stability testing using commercial UE and industry-standard test tools in lab and pre-customer environments
  • Develop troubleshooting skills by performing root-cause analysis across 5G RAN layers using logs, traces, and protocol analysis
  • Participate in data-driven quality assessments, learning to identify key KPIs, counters, and failure patterns that inform real release decisions
  • Get exposure to customer validation, acceptance testing, and field-trial support
  • Collaborate with RAN development, CI/CD, system integration, and customer project teams
  • Contribute to improvements in test coverage, automation, and verification frameworks

Benefits

  • Choice of 3 medical and dental plan options
  • Core level medical and dental coverage paid for fully by Ericsson
  • Ericsson’s Group Retirement & Savings Program offers an automatic 2% company contribution into the Pension Plan
  • 50% match of employee’s contribution into the Registered Retirement Savings Plan, up to 8% of the employee’s contribution (maximum of 4% match)
  • Basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage at two-times annual base pay at no cost
  • Short-term disability coverage
  • Option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan
  • 18 days of accrued vacation
  • At least 3 personal days
  • Minimum 10 holidays
