About The Position

Dr. Rodriguez Audiology & Hearing Center, located in the middle of Southeastern New Mexico, is a thriving private audiology practice dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered hearing healthcare. Our office works with both adult and pediatric populations, offering a full range of diagnostic and rehabilitative services in a collaborative, supportive environment. We are proud to serve a diverse community and are committed to clinical excellence and innovation. We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and enthusiastic 4th-year Au.D. extern to join our team for the 2026-2027 academic year. The extern will gain hands-on experience in key all aspects of audiology, working closely with our audiologist and support staff in a professional yet friendly setting.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program
Eligible for a 4th year externship placement (2026-2027 academic year)
Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approach to care
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Willingness to travel between clinic locations if assigned a rotating schedule

Comprehensive audiologic evaluations for adults and children
Hearing aid consultations, fittings, and follow-up care with major manufacturers
Educational Audiology experience

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive audiologic evaluations for patients of all ages
Perform hearing aid fittings, real-ear verification, adjustments, and follow-ups
Educate patients and families on hearing loss, hearing aid use, and communication strategies
Maintain accurate, timely, and HIPAA-compliant patient records
Collaborate with providers, support staff, and community partners
Participate in community outreach and educational events as needed
