About The Position

Holy Spirit Catholic School, located at 4382 Duchene Lane in the Columbus suburb of Whitehall, is seeking a 4th Grade Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. The teacher will assist students in mastering the skills and information in the school curriculum while helping them to grow in faith and responsibility. Teachers in the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Columbus are expected to know, understand, and contribute to the integration of Catholic teachings and virtues throughout the curriculum and school culture, supporting faith formation and student learning. They must understand student learning, development, and faith formation while respecting diversity, and possess knowledge of the content for which they have instructional responsibility. Teachers should utilize varied assessments to inform instruction and ensure student learning, plan and deliver effective instruction, and create Christ-centered learning environments that promote high levels of learning and achievement. Collaboration and communication with students, parents, colleagues, administrators, and the faith community are essential, as is assuming responsibility for professional academic/spiritual growth and performance.

Requirements

  • Hold an appropriate Ohio Teaching License (Professional, Permanent, or Resident Educator) or be eligible to obtain one before beginning to teach.
  • Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks.
  • Have attended or be willing to attend a Virtus Protecting God's Children training.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Appropriate state certification/license as required by the grade levels and subjects taught.
  • Religious Education certification as required by the diocese.
