About The Position

This is a temporary leave replacement position for a 4th-grade teacher at Tenino Elementary School. The term is from September 1, 2026, to December 18, 2026, with a possibility of extension. The role involves supervising students, ensuring a safe learning environment, and fostering positive relationships within the school community.

Requirements

  • Washington State Teacher Certification with appropriate endorsement.
  • Successful teaching experience.
  • Knowledge of subject matter in classroom instruction.
  • Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising students within the classroom, on campus, and at school events.
  • Providing a safe learning environment.
  • Establishing positive relationships with the school community.
  • Developing age-appropriate lesson plans to meet group and individual needs.
  • Presenting, adapting, and providing instruction for identified youth.
  • Completing all required documentation of student learning.
  • Being a contributing member of grade level, building, and district teams.
  • Presenting and speaking to large groups, parents, and citizens.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Principal or Principal designee.
  • Using engaging instructional methods and materials consistent with the District’s professional development offerings.
  • Effectively utilizing district technology.
  • Using effective classroom management techniques by establishing, sharing, and maintaining standards of pupil behavior, consistent with building and district policy.
  • Evaluating pupils’ academic and social growth.
  • Maintaining appropriate records and preparing progress reports and report cards.
  • Maintaining a regular attendance report and entering grades into the designated system as per district policy.
  • Attending staff and PLC meetings.
  • Developing, maintaining, and following frameworks consistent with courses being offered.
  • Complying with district policies, rules and regulations.

Benefits

  • $200/day (first 20 days), beginning on the 21st day pay is based on the 25-26 TEA Salary Schedule
