Propel seeks a 4th Grade ELA/Social Studies Teacher for its Propel Northside School for the 2026-2027 school year. Propel schools operate with an extended school year to increase learning time and opportunities for scholars, offering 190 instructional days and 30 professional development days, totaling 220 work days annually. This role is accountable for collaborating with administrators and staff in planning for and leading students to learning success, and for developing and teaching curriculum based on the Pennsylvania Common Core Standards. The ELA educator role involves working with scholars and partners to address the literacy crisis, using data and an aligned curriculum to provide grade-level content and just-in-time supports for scholar success in literacy. This is achieved through collaboration among directors, coordinators, coaches, school leaders, and educators, utilizing rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum, resources for unfinished instruction, embedded blocks for foundational skills (K-5), systems for fluency and comprehension (6-8), engaging texts, a network-wide portal of research-based strategies, and focused professional development.
