Corix operates the Burnaby Mountain District Energy Utility, turning locally sourced wood waste destined for landfill into clean heat and hot water for SFU's Burnaby campus and the UniverCity community. This role involves hands-on infrastructure work with a real environmental payoff, as part of a growing portfolio of district energy systems Corix operates across North America. As a District Energy Utility Operator, you'll help keep this facility and its network of underground piping and energy transfer stations running safely and reliably, working closely with the Area Supervisor and Area Manager. No two days will look quite the same: one shift might be routine monitoring and preventative maintenance, the next could be troubleshooting a mechanical issue or responding to an emergency call-out. New to district energy or biomass? That's okay. If you have 4th class Power Engineering credentials and hands-on experience with equipment like boilers, pumps, or chillers, we'll help you build the rest. Corix offers on-the-job training and a tuition assistance program for approved courses to support your career growth.
