About The Position

This role involves designing and delivering standards-aligned instruction for 4th and 5th grade students in core subjects. The teacher will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging classroom environment, differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs, and utilizing assessment data to inform teaching practices. Effective communication with students, families, and colleagues, as well as collaboration with other educators, is essential. The position also requires participation in professional development and school meetings, with dedicated time for lesson preparation and data review.

Requirements

Valid teaching credential for upper elementary grades (required or in progress)
Strong Classroom management and instructional skills
Ability to differentiate instruction for mixed-grade classrooms.
Strong skills using assessment data to guide instruction
Current and valid IVP card required

Nice To Haves

Experience teaching combination classes (preferred)
Experience working in schools with a 4-day instruction week.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver standards-aligned instruction in core subjects (ELA, Math, Science Social Studies) tailored to both 4th and 5th grade students.
Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans to meet a range of learning needs and styles.
Create a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom culture that promotes student agency and collaboration.
Assess and monitor student progress regularly; use data to inform instruction.
Communicate Effectively with students, families, and colleagues to support student learning and development.
Collaborate with grade-level and specialist teachers as needed.
Participate in professional development and school meetings.
Use Friday planning time effectively to prepare lessons, review student data, and coordinate with colleagues.
