•$42,110 - $66,260•Onsite

About The Position

The 4-H Program Manager facilitates the growth of the Cheshire County 4-H program and supports life-skill development for 4-H youth. The role primarily coordinates and mobilizes 42 community- or topic-based volunteers who recruit, train, support, and guide youth and families through community engagement activities. Programming is offered online and in person through clubs, community partnerships, afterschool programs, camps, and other educational activities. New Hampshire 4-H pathways focus on STEM/agriscience, civic engagement, and healthy living, using sequential learning experiences to build youth skills, knowledge, and sense of belonging. The position is based at Extension’s Cheshire County office in Keene, New Hampshire, and involves frequent evening and weekend program responsibilities. Weekly work hours have flexibility in fixed times to accommodate community programming needs. The Program Manager may also serve as the county office administrator (COA), if appointed in conjunction with the supervisor and Extension administration. COA duties include maintaining relationships with county officials and stakeholders, managing facilities, equipment and the office budget, and supervising administrative assistants, interns, and other part-time or temporary employees. COA responsibilities typically account for 20% of an employee’s time; organizational support time is reduced during COA service. This position is supported by external sponsor funding, and continued employment is contingent on the availability of those funds. If funding is reduced or discontinued, employment may be modified or terminated in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
