About The Position

At ABB, the 3rd Shift Supervisor leads a team within a Production unit or line to execute production processes, transforming parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely and cost-effective manner. The role ensures continuous and efficient operations in accordance with production volumes, schedules, procedures, drawings, and quality and safety standards and policies. The supervisor organizes and allocates resources to meet production targets effectively and efficiently.

This onsite position is based in Pinetops, North Carolina, and contributes to Electrification Distribution Solutions. It reports to the Production Manager. The role also requires the ability and willingness to travel as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 3 years of experience leading in a manufacturing or product development environment, or equivalent leadership experience.
• Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.
• Some project management skills to lead small Kaizen projects.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or a proven track record leading continuous improvement projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs.
• Ability and willingness to travel as required.
• Must already be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production schedules meet volume requirements and inventory service levels from the demand plan.
• Identify production deficiencies, recommend equipment or facility improvements, and oversee their implementation to enhance performance.
• Maintain knowledge of safety and environmental regulations affecting the work area.
• Lead shift meetings and manage resolution of critical production or equipment issues with relevant teams.
• Monitor process and equipment health and use work instructions (WIs), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and job safety tasks (JSTs) to maintain operational and reliability standards.
• Organize and allocate resources to meet production targets.
