About The Position

Under the direction of the Back-up day-shift supervisor, the 3rd Loader is accountable for the safe operation of the Rail-Loading operating area. This includes operation of all types of equipment, pumps, valves, and control panel consoles. Additionally, the Third Loader is responsible for documentation of daily activities. This successful individual will work with other Offsites personnel and various LR Departments when needed, as well as the CN and CP Train Master. The 3rd Loader helps the Second Loader and assists the First Loader if need.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Minimum Grade 12 education or GED equivalent
  • 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate is required
  • Previous Operating experience in Refinery or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of working experience in an industrial setting
  • Previous experience working around railcars, tracks and switches
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative and attention to detail
  • Maintain a Class 5 driver's license
  • A satisfactory driving record
  • Adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial railway locomotive/railcar mover Operations experience is an asset
  • Experience with operating rail-loading equipment

Responsibilities

  • Movement and spotting of railcars
  • Perform Preloading inspections of railcars
  • Loading rail railcars with molten asphalt and other commodities
  • Following daily instructions and safety requirements
  • Preparation of rail equipment for maintenance as well as issue work permits.
  • Do spot checks and ensure the work is being done in a safe and timely manner
  • Complete required training and ensure allocated training hours are met
  • Act as First Response in handling of emergency situations as needed
  • Comply with all HS&E and ISO 9001 requirements in the performance of this Position's responsibilities
