About The Position

Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing K–8 public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities. AMS is seeking a passionate and student-centered 3rd Grade Teacher to provide rigorous, standards-aligned instruction across core content areas while fostering academic excellence, curiosity, and a love of learning. AMS teachers are collaborative professionals who believe all scholars can achieve at high levels through structured instruction, strong classroom culture, and consistent data-driven decision-making. This role requires a teacher who is committed to supporting students in Title I communities while maintaining high academic expectations and creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.

Requirements

  • Valid teaching certification in Elementary Education or a related subject area; OR Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; OR Minimum of three (3) years of K–8 teaching experience.
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and instructional planning skills.
  • Show commitment to serving Title I schools and multilingual learner communities.
  • Utilize data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, collaboration, flexibility, and initiative.
  • Pass required background checks and obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction aligned with Arizona Academic Standards and AMS curriculum frameworks across all core subject areas.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of all learners.
  • Utilize formative and summative assessment data to drive instructional planning and targeted interventions.
  • Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and independent learning skills.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and progress monitoring documentation.
  • Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations classroom environment.
  • Implement PBIS and proactive classroom management strategies to promote student engagement and positive behavior.
  • Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.
  • Build strong relationships that encourage student confidence, responsibility, and success.
  • Participate in weekly professional development, coaching cycles, and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, interventionists, and school leadership.
  • Contribute to school-wide initiatives focused on continuous improvement and student achievement.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective instructional practice.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, classroom expectations, and academic goals.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences and maintain positive partnerships with families.
  • Support family engagement through school events, conferences, and ongoing communication.
