About The Position

Hamilton County Schools is committed to excellence for every student. With nearly 75 schools across the district, we are focused on helping all students thrive and experience a future without limits. Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts (CSLA) is a Paideia Magnet school located on a new campus at 4850 Jersey Pike in Chattanooga, TN serving grades Kindergarten through twelfth grade. Life long learning and academics, and citizenship are top priorities at CSLA. Applicants should exhibit a love of learning and seek continual improvement in their teaching practice. Applicants must exhibit an interest in learning about and applying Paideia principles to their planning and classroom instructional practices. Additionally, since our students come from all parts of our county through a lottery process, it is important that they have the opportunity to connect through extracurricular activities. Applicants for our teaching positions must be willing to support students beyond the academic offerings including clubs and/or athletics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Valid Tennessee teaching license in Elementary Education (K-5) OR current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program
  • Positive, student-focused educators with strong content and classroom management skills
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
  • Committed to high expectations and academic achievement for all students
  • Open to feedback, coaching, and continuous growth

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Title I or high-need school settings is a plus
  • Passion for supporting the whole child academically and socially

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess effective instruction aligned to Tennessee state standards
  • Design engaging lessons with clear objectives and measurable outcomes
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
  • Collaborate regularly with colleagues and support staff
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with students and families
  • Create a well-managed, structured classroom environment
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and reflection
  • Support students beyond the academic offerings including clubs and/or athletics
