About The Position

The 3rd Grade Teacher funded by 31a At-Risk funds provides high-quality instruction and early academic intervention in a smaller class size setting to better support the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of young learners. The teacher will deliver a standards-aligned curriculum with a focus on early literacy, mathematics, and foundational skills, while also supporting at-risk students through differentiated instruction and developmentally appropriate practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited college or university
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate Elementary endorsement
• Highly Qualified by ESSA Standards
• Current knowledge of Michigan Content Standards
• High-level communication skills
• Ability to help create positivity and thrive in a professional environment that is one of mutual respect, teamwork, and accountability

Nice To Haves

• Experience or training in early childhood education and/or developmental kindergarten preferred.
• Knowledge of research-based instructional strategies for early learners, including phonics, phonemic awareness, number sense, and play-based learning.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with young children, families, and colleagues.
• Strong classroom management and organization skills.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and serving the needs of at-risk students.
• Training LETRS / Science of Reading
• Willing to do what it takes, #Learning is not optional!
