About The Position

The Prince George Hotel is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented 3rd Cook to join our Culinary Team. In this role, you will support the preparation and presentation of high-quality food for our restaurant, breakfast service, banquets, and special events. Working alongside an experienced kitchen team, you will help ensure our guests receive exceptional dining experiences that encourage repeat visits and uphold our reputation for excellence. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in food quality and presentation, and is eager to develop their culinary skills.

Requirements

  • Previous culinary, food preparation, or kitchen experience required.
  • Strong understanding of food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary training or enrollment in a culinary program is considered an asset.
  • Food Safety Certification is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and production of food items according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards set by the Executive Chef.
  • Support breakfast, restaurant, banquet, and catering operations as scheduled.
  • Maintain awareness of food costs, portion control, and waste reduction practices.
  • Report concerns regarding food quality, inventory, or waste to the Executive Chef or senior kitchen team members.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area at all times.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, labeling, and rotation of food products.
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing kitchen supplies as required.
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the Culinary Team to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and emergency response procedures.
  • Report incidents, accidents, near misses, and safety hazards promptly.
  • Perform additional duties and assignments as directed by the Executive Chef or other members of the Kitchen leadership team.
