About The Position

Our Certified Power Engineers are our powerhouses. They are pros at maintaining the machinery and boilers that keep our mills running. They use their years of experience and training to bring innovative and safe solutions when challenges arise. We’re looking for a 3rd Class Power Engineer to join our High Prairie OSB mill, located in High Prairie, Alberta.

Requirements

• 3rd Class Power Engineer Certification.
• Extensive operating and maintenance experience.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to working safely.
• Strong communication, leadership & interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a forest products environment is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Work with a high-performance team dedicated to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fire systems, process safety equipment, and newly built thermal energy system.
• Keep our systems running smoothly by applying your expertise to the planning and execution of maintenance and regulatory efforts in the energy area.
• Show our commitment to excellence by maintaining records associated with compliance with environmental, ABSA and insurance standards.
• Pass on your knowledge by developing training systems and operating procedures and training our team of Power Engineer Operators.
• Use your leadership skills to step in and take charge for the Chief Power Engineer when they are away.
