About The Position

This role involves working in a large warehouse environment, receiving items from delivery trucks and placing them in appropriate warehouse areas. Responsibilities may include picking items for outbound shipments, sorting inbound OCIE shipments, or manually loading/unloading trucks. The position requires using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for tasks such as unpacking, shelving, and placing items in proper storage locations. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy, with individuals receiving a radio frequency unit with an LED readout monitor and a barcode scanner to guide them to item locations. Workers will also be responsible for keying in received stock information to produce labels and verifying correct item placement. Accuracy is paramount, with speed also being a factor. The ability to recognize discrepant 15-digit part numbers is essential.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able lift up to 40 pounds on a moderate basis.
  • Must be able lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • No positive drug screen for the past 12 months.
  • Must have reliable transportation to get between job locations.
  • Individual must be able to gain and maintain the necessary security clearances.
  • Basic English reading and writing levels.
  • Basic math, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Must be able to recognize discrepant 15-digit part numbers.
  • Must be able to be licensed on a forklift and a reach truck.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a large warehouse environment receiving items from delivery trucks and placing items in the appropriate warehouse area.
  • Pick items for outbound shipments.
  • Sort inbound OCIE shipments.
  • Manually load or unload trucks or other transporting devices.
  • Unpack, shelve, or place items in proper storage locations according to the WMS.
  • Use radio-frequency stock locator.
  • Report any discrepancies in orders to the Shipping and Receiving supervisor.
  • Key in 15-digit part numbers into the computer.
  • Meet established deadlines.
  • Maintain warehouse equipment by following manufacturer’s standards of use and cleaning.
  • Work with supervisor towards meeting performance standards.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Daily use of a fork truck, reach truck, push carts and motorized pallet jacks.
  • Operate with a high level of accuracy.
  • Enter computerized data and print tags.
  • Provide training support for peers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
