3D Tekla Model Technician
About The Position
In this role, you will be responsible for offering technical support and data management, analyzing 3D models to meet manufacturing requirements, completing and validating technical information in drawings, extracting and organizing model data, resolving technical issues related to production, and ensuring data quality and integrity. You will also produce and validate technical deliverables, including shop drawings and assembly details, prepare drawings and CNC files, interpret materials and manufacturing processes, produce required technical documentation, and participate in the validation of modeled elements. Additionally, you will optimize methods and teamwork by contributing to manufacturing and assembly methods, participating in the improvement of processes and models, collaborating with teams, applying BIM standards and best practices, and providing technical support to operations.
Requirements
- College diploma (D.E.C.) in civil engineering, industrial drafting, product design, or any relevant field
- 1 to 3 years of experience in 3D modeling, steel detailing, or a related field
- Experience with Tekla Structures (or similar software: Revit, SolidWorks, Advance Steel)
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Excellent communication skills in French and English (spoken and written)
- Good understanding of the product development cycle (analysis, design, validation, production)
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, shop drawings, and schematics (mechanical, structural, or piping)
- Good knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes, materials, and digital manufacturing environments (CNC, DSTV files, etc.)
- Ability to design, modify, and optimize technical parts or assemblies
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a meticulous approach
- Strong prioritization skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Team player who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment
- Self-reliance, initiative, and ability to adapt to new technologies
