About The Position

Lamar Advertising's Graphics plant in Baton Rouge, LA is hiring a new 3D Technician to help bring large-scale props for billboards to life. The purpose of this position is to assist the Senior 3D Technician(s) by operating two expanded polystyrene (EPS) (CNC) cutting and finish-coating machines. The 3D Technician works with the 3D Senior Technicians and at the direction of the Operations Mgr.

  • Ability to perform effectively under fluctuating workloads.
  • Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Skill in working independently and following through on assignments and directions.
  • Critical eye for color and depth perception.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of operating CNC cutting and finish-coating machines preferred
  • 1 year of painting or auto body experience preferred
  • 1-2 years of Printing or Graphics Experience preferred
  • Some equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Senior Technician(s) by painting and airbrushing completed 3D props.
  • Receives orders using Lamar’s production control systems, and schedules orders.
  • Performs routine service and maintenance on the cutting mills.
  • Loads/unloads blocks of EPS, and sheets of coroplast based on shipping priorities.
  • Assures size and shape correctness of EPS.
  • Handles materials such as safely operating forklifts, hoists, and finishing equipment.
  • Cleans and shapes finished material and prepares for coating.
  • Works with and understands the software used on the finishing machinery.
  • Manages inventory by completing log sheets to record material usage.
  • Constructs digital backlit logos.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties and ensures a safe work area.
