About The Position

Britten, Inc. is seeking a hands-on individual to lead the day-to-day operations of their additive manufacturing division. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a shop environment, operating and maintaining 3D printers, and ensuring smooth project progression. The position involves taking ownership of setup, calibration, scheduling, material handling, and order fulfillment. The company is looking for a detail-oriented maker who excels in a fast-paced setting, guaranteeing consistent quality, efficiency, and reliability across all projects. Britten, Inc. is a veteran-owned (VOSB), creative production house with over 35 years of experience in innovative signage, displays, and event branding solutions, located in Traverse City, Michigan.

Requirements

  • 3D printing experience required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to utilize computers and learn new software programs
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Extreme attention to the details
  • Sense of urgency to accurately and timely achieve results
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work before/after typical production hours as work may demand

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the additive manufacturing division
  • Set up, calibrate, and maintain 3D printers to ensure optimal performance
  • Manage print schedules, prioritize orders, and coordinate workflow to meet deadlines
  • Communicate job status with the fabrication team and deliver parts to assembly in an organized manner
  • Handle materials, including preparation, storage, and proper usage
  • Ensure quality control of printed parts, maintaining consistency and accuracy
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and perform preventative maintenance
  • Maintain an organized and safe fabrication workspace
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members working within the division
  • Collaborate cross-functionally when opportunities arise in design and engineering
