3D IC Solutions Engineer – Power, EMIR and Reliability

Siemens•Wilsonville, OR
•$129,600 - $256,400•Hybrid

About The Position

Siemens EDA is seeking an experienced, motivated solution engineer for power, EMIR (electromigration and IR-drop), and reliability in its 3D IC Solutions Engineering team. The role develops end-to-end workflow solutions for advanced 2.5D and 3D System-in-Package designs, integrating Siemens EDA and simulation tools for architectural planning, physical design and verification, and multi-die electrical and thermomechanical analysis. The position defines and drives workflows for power, EMIR, and reliability analysis of 2.5D/3D IC package designs. Acting as a technical product owner, the engineer works with software engineering teams to turn roadmap priorities and customer needs into software deliverables. This includes using generative AI to create proof-of-concept demonstrators that help clarify requirements and user experience before formal development. Workflows support predictive analysis during architectural planning, in-design analysis during physical design, and signoff-to-manufacturing handoff analysis. Reference designs, test structures, and/or customer designs are used to develop, test, and validate workflows. The engineer also provides technical support to sales, marketing, and design services, and represents Siemens EDA in customer engagements. The role may involve creating technical marketing materials such as papers, demonstrations, and videos. Periodic travel may be required to work with customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in EDA physical design, implementation, or analysis, focused on power, EMIR, and reliability.
  • At least 3 years of product or field application engineering experience, including working with software development teams to translate customer requirements into software roadmaps and deliverables.
  • Working knowledge of EDA tools, terminology, file formats, and design/working practices.
  • Working knowledge of advanced packaging EDA tools and design methods for 2.5D and 3D solutions.
  • Knowledge of physical design and implementation tools, including Siemens Aprisa, Synopsys 3DIC Compiler and Fusion Compiler, and Cadence Integrity 3D-IC and Innovus.
  • Knowledge of power and EMIR analysis tools for digital and analog/mixed-signal designs, including Siemens PowerPro and mPower; Ansys Redhawk, Totem, and Swave; and Cadence Voltus, Voltus-XFi, and Clarity 3D solver.
  • Detailed knowledge of EDA data formats such as Verilog, LEF/DEF, GDS, and OASIS.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of generative and agentic AI technologies and trends.
  • Demonstrated track record of producing high-quality technical collateral, such as presentations, demos, visuals, videos, and publications, for solution messaging and customer engagement.
  • Employment is contingent on verifying U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license, due to U.S. export control requirements under ITAR and/or EAR.
