About The Position

Provides technical and creative expertise in 3D asset creation and environment assembly for grant-funded AR/VR research projects within the School of Computing and Information. Up to 12 hours per week, 50 hours per month.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with 3D modeling and texturing software (e.g., Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Substance Painter).
  • Strong familiarity with real-time development environments, specifically Unity or Unreal Engine.
  • Solid understanding of low-poly optimization, topology, UV unwrapping, and PBR (Physically Based Rendering) workflows for real-time performance.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work iteratively with an academic research team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience developing specifically for VR/AR hardware (e.g., Meta Quest, Apple Vision Pro, or smart glasses).
