About The Position

Amrize is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious LICENSED 310T TRUCK AND COACH TECHNICIAN to join their team. This role will focus on the repair and maintenance of the Ready Mix fleet, including older and newer models with manual and automatic transmissions, as well as other essential vehicles. The position is crucial for ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of the fleet, supporting Amrize's commitment to quality and service. The technician will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime and maximize fleet performance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of heavy truck experience.
  • Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician license.
  • Proficient in performing inspections, diagnostic tests, troubleshooting, and general vehicle repair.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy truck systems, including diesel engines, transmissions (manual and automatic), brakes, steering, and suspension.
  • Computer knowledge, including creating work orders and utilizing email.
  • Must possess own Hand Tools and Tool Box.
  • At minimum, a valid G Driver's License with a clean abstract is required.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be organized and willing to exhibit good housekeeping practices in our shop.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and punctuality are a must.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education in Heavy Equipment or Truck and Coach Repair.
  • Experience with Ready Mix trucks and other vocational vehicles is highly preferred.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems is an asset.
  • An AZ or DZ driver's license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostic tests, and troubleshooting on a variety of heavy trucks, including Ready Mix trucks (both old and new, manual and automatic transmissions), and other Amrize Canada Inc. vehicles.
  • Execute preventative maintenance services and related work to ensure the longevity and reliability of the fleet.
  • Conduct thorough safety checks on all vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Respond efficiently to service calls for emergency breakdowns, both during regular hours and occasionally after hours or on Saturdays, to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Maintain neat and organized records of all services performed and work completed, utilizing computer systems for work order creation and email communication.
  • Exhibit good housekeeping practices in the shop, contributing to a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
