The 310T Truck & Coach Technician or Apprentice is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on a variety of company vehicles to meet both Ministry and company standards. The successful candidate’s expertise in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems, combined with strong problem-solving skills, will ensure reliable fleet performance and exceptional service throughout the Niagara area.

Requirements

  • Adhere to Miller Waste safety protocols and be familiar with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving faults, with hands-on expertise in repairing and maintaining hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Successful candidates must hold and maintain a valid 310T Truck & Coach Technician's license, along with any other required licenses.
  • Must have at least a valid G Driver’s Licence, DZ Licence would be an asset.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment and work effectively within a team.
  • You must be flexible and available to work outside of the regular schedule when there are delays in the truck schedule; you may be required to work outside regular scheduled hours and on rare occasions, weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the service maintenance and repairs of all Company vehicles to both Ministry and Company standards and procedures.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Repair waste vehicles and trucks, troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems, and perform road tests on serviced vehicles/equipment.
  • Complete work orders using available tools and equipment.
  • Read and interpret manufacturer/operator manuals.
  • Maintain accurate service records and files for vehicle maintenance.
  • Respond to “on-road” service calls as required.
  • Conduct preventative vehicle maintenance according to established MWS policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all equipment, vehicles, and work areas comply with safety policies and regulations at all times.
  • Additional projects and duties as assigned.
