About The Position

McDougall Energy is looking for a 310T Truck and Coach Technician / Active Apprentice to join their team in St. Thomas, Ontario. This role involves servicing the company's internal fleet of trucks, trailers, and related equipment. The technician will be responsible for maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on various vehicle components, including engines, transmissions, cooling systems, air systems, brakes, tires, and electrical systems. The position also includes performing MTO inspections, tank testing, operating diagnostic equipment, maintaining a clean work area, adhering to safety regulations, and participating in training. There are day and afternoon shift options available, with a Saturday morning shift on a rotating basis. Other mechanical repair work, including small engine repairs, may also be required.

Requirements

  • A valid 310T License or Active Apprenticeship
  • Valid G Class Driver’s License
  • Dedicated to safety culture

Responsibilities

  • Servicing and maintaining trucks, trailers, and related equipment in our dedicated fleet
  • Performing MTO inspections
  • Diagnose, maintain and repair of commercial vehicles, pickup trucks and other vehicles including but not limited to engines, transmissions, cooling systems, air systems, brakes and tires, metering and pumping systems, hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work.
  • Operate electronic/diagnostic equipment to analyze vehicle/equipment problems and provide timely, cost-effective repairs and maintenance.
  • Perform tank testing, maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance are accurate and in accordance with required standards.
  • Assist in preparing preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Document work performed including daily records and maintenance reports.
  • Shunting and moving equipment in and out of the truck shop facility.
  • Maintain a clean work area / shop including tools and equipment.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in formal and informal training sessions.
  • Saturday morning shift will be scheduled on a rotating basis.
  • Other mechanical repair work as required, including small engine repairs.
