About The Position

Responsible for performing various functions associated with the Carton Warehouse. This includes setting up lines by ensuring the correct poly film and corrugated boxes are at the production line on time, using the next day’s production schedule to determine needed corrugated boxes, and coordinating deliveries from outside warehouses if items are not available. The role involves loading/unloading boxes and poly, maintaining inventory of all corrugated and poly items, and designing/producing corrugated print dies. The Leadperson will print boxes for the Production Department, order blank cartons, and instruct/train employees. They will direct line personnel, inform the Department Supervisor of problems, help control quality and quantity of work, maintain production flow, ensure proper codes are used, and maintain line speeds and goals. Responsibilities also include completing necessary paperwork, reporting mechanical and safety issues, physically lifting up to 100 pounds, adhering to safety practices and plant hygiene standards, keeping the work area clean, and executing food safety, legality, and quality policies and procedures (e.g., GMP’s, HACCP, food safety, product quality, food security, plant security). Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor are also part of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up lines each day by assuring that the required poly film and corrugated boxes are at the correct production line on time.
  • Using the next day’s production schedule to determine what corrugated boxes are needed in addition to poly films.
  • Making a list of items required and if not available in the carton warehouse, coordinating to get items delivered from outside warehouses.
  • Loading/unloading boxes and poly at the carton warehouse and the additional warehouse.
  • Keeping inventory of all corrugated and poly items at the carton warehouse and other warehouses.
  • Designing and producing corrugated print dies for all products printed inhouse.
  • Printing boxes for the Production Department as required.
  • Ordering blank cartons as needed for printing.
  • Instructing and training employees in their work area.
  • Directing line personnel to positions, as necessary.
  • Informing Department Supervisor of any problems that may arise.
  • Helping control quality and quantity of work performed by their group and working to maintain a continuous flow of production.
  • Setting up and ensuring that the proper codes are used for products in their area.
  • Maintaining line speeds and goals set up by management.
  • Completing all necessary paperwork needed within area of responsibility.
  • Reporting any mechanical and/or safety problems to the Department Supervisor immediately.
  • Physically lifting up to 100 pounds as required.
  • Adhering to common safety practices or rules, including the wearing of protective equipment as required.
  • Adhering to plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity.
  • Keeping work area clean in accordance with good housekeeping practices.
  • Executing food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP’s, HACCP, food safety, product quality, food security, plant security, etc.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
