About The Position
State Street Academy is hiring a 2nd Grade Teacher to join the team. Must have Michigan Teacher Certification and endorsement. State Street Academy is a K-11 charter school located in Bay City, Michigan. Our mission is to encourage students to do their personal best by offering education in a safe and caring environment. The curriculum prepares students to solve problems both individually and collaboratively, using critical thinking skills and cultivated through comparative, inter-displinary study. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Teacher to join our team. The Elementary Teacher will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment for students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to student development and a desire to foster a love for learning in young children.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan with an endorsement in the grade level.
- Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate lesson plans based on curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
- Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff
