About The Position

Fenwick is seeking law students who expect to complete the equivalent of four semesters of law school prior to the start of the 2027 Summer Program. The goal of the Summer Associate Program is to provide a realistic, professional, and meaningful experience, offering a practical and exciting view of the legal industry. Summer Associates will experience challenging days filled with client work, mentorship, and relationship-building opportunities. The summer will also include training programs, professional development exercises, and events and activities. Summer Associates will observe and, when possible, assist in trials, hearings, depositions, and negotiations, and participate in client meetings and closings. Requirements

  • Expect to complete the equivalent of four semesters of law school prior to the start of the 2027 Summer Program.
  • Be enrolled full-time in an American Bar Association-accredited law school with an anticipated graduation date of May 2028 at the time of application (for Scholarship consideration).
  • Be able to participate in and complete Fenwick's 2027 Summer Program.
  • Submit a cover letter, current resume, undergraduate transcript, and law school transcript (applications may be submitted without a current law school transcript but will not be considered complete until that transcript is received).
  • Demonstrated a commitment to a more inclusive legal industry (for Scholarship consideration).
  • Provide a personal statement of no more than 300 words articulating background, life experiences, values, character, and worldview influencing the decision to apply for the Scholarship (for Scholarship consideration).
  • Provide illustrations of commitment to a more inclusive legal industry and specific interest in a summer associate position with Fenwick (for Scholarship consideration).
