About The Position

Aspiring professionals in public policy, executive management, business, and related fields are invited to apply to our 2027 Internship Program at the Office of the Attorney General, based in Richmond, Virginia. Each summer, the OAG sponsors an eight-week program, geared towards providing students with a unique, hands-on experience and a realistic preview of work. The 2027 program runs from Tuesday, June 1 to Friday, July 23. Program Highlights: Build lasting professional relationships through networking opportunities with peers and attorneys across the agency. Hands-on experience working alongside attorneys and professional staff in a public service environment. Mentorship and guidance from experienced attorneys and staff committed to supporting your career growth. Contribute to meaningful projects that support the mission of the Virginia Office of the Attorney General. Gain exposure to careers in law, public policy, government, and administration.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate professionalism in behavior, communication, and reliability
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program
  • Basic understanding of fundamental business processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and research abilities
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required
  • Students must be able to participate in the full eight-week program
  • Exhibit a genuine interest in working for state government

  • Students who have not yet completed their first semester of school should include a statement indicating that their transcript will be provided once available.
