About The Position

The intern will be participating in a research-related project with a focus on formulation and industrial applications for High-performance antifoams. This includes developing and testing formulations with surfactants, polymers and antifoams for foam control in formulations related to industrial applications. These new formulations will incorporate more sustainable ingredients while preserving or improving current performance.

Requirements

Must be pursuing an MS or PhD in the field of chemistry, chemical engineering, material science or surfactant chemistry.
A strong background in colloidal science is preferred, e.g., emulsion, foam, dispersion, etc.
The candidate must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester following the conclusion of the internship.
The candidate is expected to be available 40 hours a week for a period of 10-12 weeks between the months of May and August
PhD or master's in chemistry/chemical engineering

Responsibilities

Research project geared towards advancing Momentive’s knowledge and understanding of high-performance antifoams
Independently perform lab-based experimentation.
Follow safety procedures and protocols in lab operation.
Document, analyze, and report finding in a report format.
Maintain lab according to good housekeeping principles.
Summarize and present the project by the end of the program.
