Job Summary- General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) Bothell is a key division of General Dynamics, specializing in the design and development of innovative guided munitions and critical space deployment devices. Located in Bothell, Washington, our facility focuses on delivering cutting edge products and technologies that support the critical needs of the defense and aerospace industries. With a strong emphasis on precision engineering, quality, and performance, GD-OTS Bothell plays a key role in ensuring the success of complex missions for our customers.

Requirements

  • Completed a minimum of 2-3 years of Mechanical Engineering coursework, working towards a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Gain experience developing FEA models utilizing Abaqus and Ansys software packages.
  • Perform calculations for loads, stresses, and material properties under the supervision of senior engineers.
  • Assist in evaluating structural systems using perimetric analysis techniques to assess load distribution, stability, and overall integrity of designs.
  • Interpret analytical and design results and collaborate with senior engineers to recommend design improvements.
  • Conduct material research and assist in testing for non-standard materials.
  • Assist in creating technical reports, presentations, and analysis summaries to support analysis results and findings.
  • Work with senior engineers to perform trade study analysis for new product development.
  • Present results to internal and external customers.
