About The Position

2026 Summer Intern - Process Engineering Department Summary Genentech specializes in biologics with incredibly complex processes requiring high-level engineering. The Process Engineering department is the bridge that allows the introduction of processes and equipment to its large-scale production for patients. We collaborate with Quality and Technical groups to ensure we deliver safe, pure, and effective medicine. This internship position is located in Oceanside, on-site . The Opportunity May assist perform process design services for facility projects, equipment upgrading and replacement. May assist engineering personnel in conducting studies and engineering calculations. May assist engineering personnel in generating supporting documents. May assist engineering in auditing engineering documents, such as P&IDs. May assist engineering personnel in gathering data for process monitoring. Program Highlights Intensive 12-weeks full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship. Program start dates are in May/June (Summer). A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects. Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry. Who You Are (Required) Required Education : You meet one of the following criteria: Must be pursuing or have attained an Associate's Degree. Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student). Required Majors: Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or related fields. Required Skills: Proficient in Windows OS and diverse computer-based systems. Strong foundational grasp of STEM principles, including Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. Technical expertise in core engineering concepts, with a specialized focus on Fluid Mechanics. Comprehensive understanding of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes and regulatory standards. Articulate communicator capable of delivering high-impact presentations and technical reports. Self-motivated with a proven ability to manage complex assignments independently. Highly organized with a focus on strategic.
