Learn how we process the field survey data, creating the basemaps used by our CADD software ( Microstation ). Engineering Design Support: Gain experience with ODOT’s CADD software ( Microstation ), learning the basics through training guides and exercises. Serve as an understudy, assisting engineers and/or technicians with creating, updating or revising CADD drawings for future maintenance projects. Serve as an assistant, utilizing Excel spreadsheets to calculate quantities for upcoming projects. Data Collection\: Assists engineers or technicians with data collection for upcoming projects, visiting the project site (existing highway, bridge or culver), taking notes, and helping with measurements. Temporary Position: Gain hands-on experience in civil engineering through practical field and design tasks that complement academic studies and prepare for future employment. Requirements

  • To be eligible, you must be in good academic standing while pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or other related Engineering field of study
  • Provide proof of Enrollment Documentation showing a minimum GPA of 2.00
  • If operating a state-owned vehicle, must show proof of valid driver's license OR must provide own transportation
  • All candidates applying for employment opportunities should be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Sponsorship for an employment visa is not currently available for positions with the Ohio Department of Transportation.
  • The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
