The Onsite Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of Envita Solutions' onsite by-product management system at the Subaru facility. This role oversees daily shift activities, manages workflow and time allocation for Team Leads and Material Handlers, and serves as the primary authority for operational decisions during the shift. The Shift Supervisor maintains strong client relationships, drives process improvements, and ensures compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial operations, waste management, or manufacturing environments.
  • Prior experience in lead role (e.g., team lead, shift lead) required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively assign tasks and manage workflow.
  • Ability to lead and influence team members without formal people management authority.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address operational challenges during shifts.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, email, reporting tools).
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge of EPA, DOT, and OSHA regulations preferred.
  • Spill response training (preferred; can be provided upon hire).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and promoting a culture of safety at all times.
  • Conduct daily operational and equipment inspections to maintain compliance and prevent hazards.
  • Oversee daily operations for sorting, handling, and processing plant by-products and waste streams.
  • Manage scheduling, placement, time, and task assignments for Material Handlers to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
  • Serve as the primary decision-maker for operational issues during the shift, escalating concerns as needed to the Program Manager.
  • Ensure accurate completion of waste-tracking forms, activity reports, and other required documentation.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to Team Leads and Material Handlers on processes, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain professional and effective communication with client associates, addressing daily service requests and providing education on waste, reuse, and recycling programs.
  • Collaborate with supplier subcontractors and Envita team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new processes, including training and auditing of assigned employees.
  • Support business development and MRO opportunities assigned by the Program Manager.
  • Participate in spill response duties as required by the customer contract.
  • Continuously grow in alignment with Envita Solutions’ core values, competencies, and skills.
  • Mentor and supervise staff, including setting performance standards, coaching, and managing employee conduct such as disciplinary actions like issuing counseling forms, submitting time approvals, PTO management, and more.
  • Create reports regarding performance metrics, such as downtime, production volume, and quality issues.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
