About The Position

This position is responsible for supplying core material to all external and in-house customers in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner. The role involves identifying, receiving, locating, counting, and pulling core materials. The inspector must be able to identify and memorize part numbers and core products, and operate hand tools, air tools, and read gauges. A forklift license may be required. Requirements

  • Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools.
  • Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Understanding of all types of applicable measuring equipment for part validation.
  • Ability to work in a repetitive motion environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently (option to use hoist).
  • Read, understand and complete documentation.
  • Willingness to cross-train throughout the area.
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and work independently.
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary.
  • Established satisfactory attendance record and performance rating.
  • Knowledge of computers, tablets, printers, and scanners.
  • Ability to identify numbers and retain to memory.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment.
  • Previous mechanical experience.
  • High School Diploma / GED preferred and further college education a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supply core material to all external and in-house customers in a safe and timely manner with as little cost as possible.
  • Identify, receive, locate, count, and pull core.
  • Identify and retain to memory part numbers and core products.
  • Operate hand tools, air tools, and read gauges.
  • Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, use of machinery, and following standardized work procedures.
  • Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput.
  • Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy.
  • Operate hand tools and small power tools in a safe and nondestructive manner.
  • Load/unload shipments (forklift license required).
  • Operate wrenches, air tools, and gauges.
  • Properly package, label, and distribute to proper location.
  • Ship core that is required to complete different processes throughout the plant or returned for core credit.
  • Operate hoist, hand tools, forklift, hand truck, and picker.
  • Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers.
  • Adhere to established work rotation plan.
  • Complete training matrix for each rotation position.
  • Read and understand Work Station Instructions.
  • Perform other tasks and/or duties as requested.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures.
  • Cross train on other jobs as required.
