About The Position

Operates IPC Towers and decomposers. Assists maintenance when needed and moves finished goods to the warehouse. This role includes a structured training and qualification period. Employees will begin as a Second-Class Operator and, upon successfully completing the required training, probationary period, and qualification requirements, will be promoted to First-Class Operator. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Talking, hearing, color vision depth perception, and good peripheral vision are required to properly operate forklift, perform testing, and communicate results. Requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, and mandatory hearing protection.

Requirements

  • Two years of operating chemical process equipment able to demonstrate skills using basic math and able to perform maintenance functioning using traditional maintenance tools.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to perform job duties with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift.

  • Backup to the Lead Operator.

Responsibilities

  • Performs operator duties on IPC Towers, decomposers, power mills, and finished product packaging utilizing plant procedures.
  • Operates forklifts to move material to the warehouse.
  • Performs housekeeping of their work area.
  • Moves, stacks, and stores materials in the Warehouse and Plant areas using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and powered lift trucks.
  • Performs safety equipment inspections and makes corrections or tags out equipment as the situation indicates.
  • Assists with unscheduled and scheduled maintenance, using tools and equipment to support installation operations of equipment.
  • Cleans the exterior of tanks, buildings, and equipment with a high-pressure washer.
  • Assists Operators on his/her shift with production or equipment problems and notifies supervisors when needed.
  • Must provide relief for the Lead Operator when on leave.
