TL;DR: Pick Teal if you want each application to count: it keeps a resume version for every job you save, checks it against that posting and tracks the follow-up, with unlimited resumes and tracked jobs free. Simplify fills in applications, and its paid Autopilot submits up to 20 a week without a review step. Teal+ costs $13 a week; Simplify+ costs $19.99.
If you want each application to count, Teal is the better fit. It keeps a resume version for every job you save, checks that resume against the posting, and tracks what happens next. Unlimited resumes and tracked jobs are free. Simplify is built to get more applications out faster by filling in the forms for you.
Simplify's homepage says its Autopilot lets you "apply to 50 jobs with just 5 minutes of your time." Meanwhile, Greenhouse, which makes hiring software, reports from its own data that the average number of applications per job rose 102% from the third quarter of 2022 to the fourth quarter of 2024. Each employer is already reading more applications. The question is whether yours is worth reading.
How do Teal and Simplify split the work of applying?
Filling in and sending applications
TealDoes not fill in or submit applications. You apply on the employer's site with the resume you exported from Teal.
SimplifyThe free Copilot extension fills in applications, and you review and submit them yourself. Simplify says it works on 80% of application websites. On Simplify+, Autopilot fills in and submits up to 20 applications a week for you.
Checking a resume against a posting, free
TealThe top 5 keywords from each job description, shown on the job you saved. Teal+ shows every keyword and lets you add your own.
SimplifyA keyword score and the keywords your resume is missing. Simplify recommends at least 70% keyword coverage.
Rewriting a resume for a posting
TealAI writes a bullet for a missing keyword. The free plan includes 5 resume bullet credits and 2 professional summaries, and Teal+ is unlimited. Each version stays on the job you saved it for.
SimplifyAI tailoring, full rewrites and bullet rewrites are Simplify+ features. A tailored resume is saved as a separate version.
Cover letters and application questions
Teal2 AI cover letters free, unlimited on Teal+.
SimplifyIts help center lists AI cover letters and answers to application questions under Simplify+.
Tracking applications
TealUnlimited tracked jobs on the free plan, each with its stage, a follow-up date, linked contacts, notes and the resume you sent.
SimplifyA tracker with column and list views and CSV import and export. Jobs you apply to through Simplify's job board are added for you, and after a Copilot application, Simplify asks whether to add it.
Finding jobs
TealJob Search lists openings taken directly from companies' applicant tracking systems, with saved searches and email alerts. You can search by the skills and tools you use, not only by job title. The Chrome extension saves a job from any webpage.
SimplifyMatches openings to your profile from postings it collects every day from 50+ job boards and company career pages.
Resume files
TealExports PDF. Imports a .docx or .pdf resume, a LinkedIn profile or pasted text.
SimplifyExports PDF or .docx. A resume you upload fills in your profile, but it cannot be used as a starting point in Simplify's resume builder.
Devices
TealDesktop and laptop browsers, with a Chrome extension.
SimplifyThe web, a Chrome extension and an iOS app.

Should you auto-apply to more jobs or tailor fewer?
Autofill solves a real chore: typing your work history into one more Workday form. Simplify's free Copilot does that, and you still check the form before you send it. Autopilot, on Simplify+, goes further: it opens the application, fills it in, tailors your resume if you asked it to, and submits it. In Simplify's words, it "prepares and submits applications without a review step."
What an employer reads is your resume and your answers, not how fast the form was filled in. An application sent in seconds still has to stand out from all the others.
For its analysis "How Job Seekers Landed Offers in 2026," Teal looked at 14.5k people who tracked their 2025 job search in Teal all the way to an offer. They saved about 10 jobs a week and applied to about half of them, about 5 a week, each with a resume tailored to that posting. The tailoring was small tweaks, not rewrites, and the offer came in about 2 months. Over those 2 months, that is about 40 applications from about 80 saved jobs. That is what people who got offers did. It was not a test against people who auto-applied. As Teal's help center puts it: "A 75% match with real content beats a 95% match with fluff."
Simplify+ can tailor a resume too. The difference is who decides. In Teal, you choose which jobs get an application and which keywords belong on your resume, before anything goes out.
How long does tailoring each application take?
Teal's help center says that once your master resume is built, tailoring a resume takes 15 to 20 minutes per application the first few times, and 5 to 10 minutes once you are used to it. At 5 applications a week, that is 75 to 100 minutes in your first week or so, then 25 to 50 minutes a week. Here is where those minutes go in Teal:
- Save the job with the Teal Chrome extension or from Job Search. Teal keeps the full job description, even after the posting is taken down.
- Open the job in the Job Matcher and see which keywords your resume already has and which it is missing.
- Add or rewrite a bullet only for a missing keyword you can back up with real work.
- Export the PDF, apply on the employer's site, and move the job to Applied in your Job Tracker with a follow-up date.
Can you use Simplify and Teal together?
You can. Tailor and export the resume in Teal, then let Copilot fill in the rest of the form. Copilot can upload your default resume into the application, so before you submit, check which file it attached and replace it with the PDF you exported from Teal. Then move the job to Applied in Teal and set a follow-up date, so the version you sent stays with the job.

Teal+ renews automatically until you cancel, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds are not automatic: email membersupport@tealhq.com within 2 days of a weekly charge, 7 days of a monthly charge, or 14 days of a quarterly or annual charge, and each request is reviewed.
Simplify+ also renews automatically until you cancel, with access to the end of the period. Simplify's help center says payments are non-refundable once your subscription is active.
Is Teal worth it for your job search?
Start on the free plan. Everything this page walks through works there at no cost: a saved job, a resume version checked against it, the application and a follow-up date. Teal+ is worth paying for once you use up the free AI credits, or once you want every keyword in a posting and not just the top 5. Try it on the next job you apply to: save it, check the keywords, fix one bullet, and track it.
