Requirements for Director of Supply Chain Excellence (IL)

  • Experience managing a team in a strategy consulting, data analytics, or business intelligence environment
  • Ability to lead long-term, multi-faceted strategy efforts with minimal guidance
  • Strong business intuition and ability to understand complex business systems, data architecture, and software design patterns
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously 
  • Exceptional presentation and verbal/written communication skills

Responsibilities for Director of Supply Chain Excellence (IL)

  • Scale and lead a multi-layered team of strategy and analytics professionals
  • Serve as the face of the Supply Chain function to relevant counterparts in the Manufacturing, Marketing, Product, and Finance departments
  • Set a long-term vision for Supply Chain data functions as they expand to support multiple new international markets and footprint expansions
  • Plan and lead an infrastructural transition from spreadsheets to data warehousing, data visualization, ERP, and other cloud-based softwares
  • Drive rigorous quantitative decisions on both inventory and logistics optimization
  • Lead other high-impact strategy efforts for the Operations department that require heavy analytical support

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, or other related operations functions
  • Previous experience working at a high-growth company
  • Proficiency in NetSuite, data visualization software, or data warehouse solutions
  • Familiarity with operations-specific software platforms (ERP, MRP, WMS, TMS, etc.)

About this position

As the Director of Supply Chain Excellence, you will be instrumental in maturing the analytical backbone of Ruggable’s Supply Chain department. You will be a thought partner to all the department heads, delivering analytical insights and helping to translate them to business decisions. Day-to-day, you will lead a team of managers and analysts specialized in analytics, planning, data, and logistics strategy. Specifically, your team will measure and track inventory management, logistics performance, quality control, and operating costs, among other performance metrics.
