About The Position

Brown Brothers Harriman is looking for a talented and self-motivated Z/OS Mainframe Application Developer to be a member of the Account Master Reference Data team. As the Mainframe Developer in this role, you will be responsible for analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and troubleshooting of the Account Master solutions. The role demands a high degree of independence and self-motivation to learn applications, understand business requirements and communicate with Stakeholders. Strong collaboration and writing skills are essential for coordinating projects and developing SDLC documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience with Mainframe Application Programming, implementation, and support
  • Proficiency in developing CICS, COBOL mainframe programs.
  • Proficiency in DB2 on mainframe and ability to create efficient SQL queries and DB2 Stored Procedures.
  • Experience with IBM MQ,VSAM, SPUFI, Changeman, JCL, PROC, OS Utilities, Xpediter, FTP.
  • Experience in performance tuning.
  • Good communication skills, analytical ability and problem-solving skills
  • Well versed with Confluence and JIRA
  • Be able to articulate the issues and propose viable solutions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Forecross is a plus
  • Knowledge of financial services is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop code, create and execute unit and integration tests that thoroughly exercise logic to ensure application functionality and performance as per business requirements.
  • Work to accomplish organizational goals that are consistent in supporting both IT and Business objectives
  • Participate in walkthroughs, which will review Account Master components, source code, and all technical supporting documentation. Provide feedback in accordance with team standards and guidelines.
  • Maintain integrity, metadata and data lineage for Account Master data intake processes including onboarding new sources via data profiling to identify data quality checks.
  • Engage and interact with business and IT stakeholders to understand Account data requirements and current constraints.
  • Provide usage support for Applications Development, Infrastructure, IT Operations and IT Production Support and user community
  • Rotating 24x7 schedule for problem resolution and Systems resiliency
  • Actively participates in periodic BCP exercises; maintains BCP readiness of systems
  • Guide and provide training to other team members.
