About The Position

Cogent Analytics is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented intern to support a short-term project focused on optimizing our YouTube channel for maximum reach, engagement, and SEO performance. This role is perfect for someone interested in digital marketing, analytics, and creative content optimization. Over 8 weeks, you’ll audit and enhance Cogent’s existing YouTube content, applying SEO best practices, improving metadata, testing creative visuals, and refining descriptions and CTAs to drive visibility and conversions. During this internship, you will be required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong understanding of YouTube SEO and content optimization principles.
  • Basic design skills (Canva, Photoshop, or similar) for thumbnail creation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and analytical thinking.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with keyword research tools a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct keyword research to inform Cogent’s YouTube SEO and social tagging strategy.
  • Input and optimize metadata across all existing and future videos.
  • Identify and remove duplicate videos to streamline the channel’s library.
  • Update video file names for SEO consistency and searchability.
  • Revise and enrich video descriptions with detailed, audience-relevant information and strong calls-to-action.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to improve ChatGPT video description templates for future automation and quality.
  • Optimize video titles with strong keywords and relevant company names.
  • Create and test new video thumbnails—designing both branded graphic versions and personality-driven versions (e.g., featuring interviewee cutouts)—to track clickthrough performance via A/B testing.
