About The Position

The Youth Outreach Consultant will support the expansion and engagement of Preventive Measure’s youth mental health services in Washington, DC, by building referral pipelines, strengthening community relationships, and increasing access to therapy, community support, and psychiatric services for youth and families.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED in the human service field with at least four years of experience in behavioral health.

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• School & Youth Referral Network Development: Identify, prioritize, and engage youth-serving referral sources, including:
• Public and charter schools (DCPS & charter networks)
• School counselors, social workers, and psychologists
• School-based mental health programs
• Early childhood programs and daycare centers
• Establish referral pathways for:
• Therapy services
• Community Support Services
• Psychiatric services
• Community-Based Outreach & Partnerships
• Build relationships with youth-focused organizations
• Develop partnerships to support youth referrals and service access
• Family Engagement & Education
• Develop and support outreach strategies that engage parents and caregivers
• Ensure messaging is culturally competent and accessible to diverse populations
• Youth-Focused Growth Strategy
• Develop a DC-specific youth outreach strategy, including:
• Identify service gaps and recommend strategies to expand youth engagement
• Align outreach efforts with community needs
• Referral Pipeline Development & Management
• Build and maintain a structured outreach and referral pipeline
• Coordinate with intake and clinical teams to ensure timely follow-up on referrals
• Marketing & Outreach Support
• Provide input on youth-focused outreach materials
• Cross-Functional Coordination
• Collaborate with:
• - Intake team (to track and convert referrals)
• - Clinical leadership (to align on service capacity)
• - Program leadership (to align outreach with program goals)
• Ensure outreach efforts are aligned with operational readiness
