About The Position

The Youth Program Manager is primarily responsible for managing administrative and programmatic development and operations. Additionally, the Youth Program Manager will assist the Program Director in building strong partnerships with schools and community organizations and will serve as an effective leader and advocate for the organization’s programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with undergraduate or graduate level courses in education, child development, recreation, psychology, and/or sociology
  • 5+ years of experience working in a youth organization or a related field
  • 5 + years of demonstrated experience in staff supervision, volunteer recruitment and management, and program administration and evaluation
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills
  • Highly organized with strong database and data management skills
  • Flexibility and ability to problem solve
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal direct supervision

Responsibilities

  • Manage Youth Program sites (K-8 Afterschool & Summer) operations in a manner that meet strategic goals and budget.
  • Supervise Site Coordinators to ensure cohesive and comprehensive of day-to-day operations at program sites.
  • Working with program leadership and partners develop and maintain afterschool and Summer program curriculum schedules.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to recruit and train qualified program staff.
  • In collaboration with Site Coordinators develop and utilize existing research based curriculum that aligns with the mission, vision and values of Girls Inc.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Work closely with leadership to ensure participation in network-wide outcomes measurement strategy.
  • Ensure use of participant-tracking system to collect student data regularly and survey students annually, as well as for continuous program improvements.
  • Strengthen relationships with school partners to provide school-based and afterschool programs.
  • Identify, establish, and nurture community resources to increase program opportunities for students.
  • Participate in staff meetings and conferences to share ideas and concerns, and work collaboratively with other staff to meet organizational goals and achieve program objectives.
  • Maintain adequate staffing levels through ongoing hiring and evaluations of staff.
  • Develop and implement ongoing youth enrichment training for program staff.
  • Maintain compliance with local and state child care regulations.
  • Other administrative duties or special projects that may be assigned.
