About The Position

Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is seeking a Clinical Supervisor to support clinical services in our Youth Inpatient Unit. In this role, you will provide clinical and administrative leadership to therapists, discharge planners, and peer support staff while ensuring safe, coordinated care delivery in a high-acuity inpatient setting. This position combines direct clinical work with team development and quality oversight to maintain strong treatment practices and regulatory compliance. Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health.
  • EXPERIENCE: Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience)
  • This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and have reliable, insured transportation.
  • LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION: Agency Affiliated Counselor License or higher. Must meet and maintain the definition of a Mental Health Professional as defined in WAC 388-877-0500.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current trends in community mental health, including health care reform and automation of job tasks using computer technology.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of mental health rehabilitation standards.

  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, clients, organizations, and the public.

  • Demonstrated experience working with youth with complex mental health needs.

  • Assist in building positive working relationships with staff of all agency departments.

  • Manage high acuity crisis situations and focus on least restrictive alternatives
  • Manage fast paced work environment and shift priorities effectively

Nice To Haves

  • EXPERIENCE: Expert (established subject matter expert, 7+ years of experience)
  • Experience in co-occurring disorders treatment, individual and group therapy, or substance abuse treatment. Two years of supervisory experience
  • LICENSURE: Washington License (LICSW, LMFT, or LMHC).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in hiring, training, coaching, developing, and evaluating qualified staff; update job descriptions and monitor required trainings.
  • Consult regularly with the Director regarding clinical and administrative processes.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on admissions and milieu management.
  • Provide clinical supervision through consultation and direct supervision to therapists, discharge planners, and peer supports; support delivery of individual, family, and group therapy services.
  • Coach staff to ensure services align with Acute Services treatment philosophy and values.
  • Provide direct clinical service hours as indicated.
  • Conduct regular clinical and clerical record reviews to ensure timely and compliant documentation.
  • Provide on-site clinical support and coordinate staff coverage to maintain safe unit operations.
  • Assist with resource management, case assignments, treatment plan approvals, authorizations, and caseload management.
  • Monitor program goals and contractual requirements, providing coaching and adjustments as needed.
  • Represent KMHS professionally in the community and collaborate with child-serving and community agencies.
  • Facilitate team meetings, case consultations, and training activities across programs.
