About The Position

Support programs that strengthen healthy homes and thriving communities. The Extension Home and Community Department focuses on areas such as nutrition, financial well-being, mental health, and family relationships. As part of USU's land-grant mission, this internship offers hands-on experience assisting with research-based education and outreach designed to improve quality of life. Interns will help deliver programs, develop educational materials, and connect with community members in meaningful ways. Our team fosters a welcoming, supportive environment where collaboration, empathy, and growth are encouraged. Interns have opportunities to work both independently and as part of a team, with some flexibility in scheduling depending on program needs. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in Extension, community education, public health, or family and consumer sciences careers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of the Healthy Screens, Healthy Families Digital Wellness Program.
  • Support research and needs assessment efforts by conducting literature reviews, assisting with surveys and focus groups, and summarizing findings on digital wellness and family health
  • Contribute to community outreach by helping plan and support workshops, events, and partnerships with schools and family-serving organizations
  • Provide program support including organizing materials and coordinating logistics.
