About The Position

The Youth Activities Worker provides direct supervision and leadership for children in after-school and/or summer programs. This position reflects PCI’s core values of Perseverance, Opportunity, Accountability, Respect, Culture, and Honesty.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required or must be a currently enrolled high school student or be enrolled in a GED program.
Must have six (6) months of full-time employment experience working with young children.
Must possess certification of “Mandatory Reporter Training” or obtain certification during the first week of employment.
Must possess and maintain First Aid/CPR certification or obtain within ninety (90) days of employment.
Must be eighteen (18) years old or older.
Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed.
Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
Ability to travel and participate in required training, leadership development, and other events.
Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.

Responsibilities

Ensure the safety and well-being of children of various ages
Supervise and participate in indoor and outdoor activities (games, arts & crafts, sports, field trips, cultural activities)
Assist with planning and implementing daily and weekly activities
Maintain accurate records and enforce program policies
Communicate concerns to supervisors and collaborate with staff
Support behavior management and positive engagement
